Maintenance Of Radiation Shielding Curtains
Radiation shielding curtains can be washed, but frequent washing should be avoided as it can affect their radiation-shielding function. Furthermore, rubbing the curtains can break the metal fibers inside, reducing their radiation-shielding effect. Therefore, simply keep your home clean and avoid excessive dust accumulation on the curtains.
It is recommended to add an extra layer of blackout fabric between the radiation shielding curtain and the doors and windows to prevent the curtains from being exposed to direct sunlight, as this can affect their effectiveness, especially since silver fiber radiation-shielding fabrics can oxidize.
Generally, radiation shielding curtains are often made of metal fiber fabric. If the material is light-colored, it's easy to see slight black lines indicating poor coloring, unlike pure cotton fabric which can be dyed in many colors. These lines may appear slightly grayish; don't mistake these black lines for dirt and wash them. If you prefer a more aesthetically pleasing curtain, you can purchase a nice, ordinary curtain and hang the radiation shielding curtain behind it.
