Introduction to magnetic book clips

May 20, 2026

Magnetic book clips are stationery bookmarks that utilize magnetic adsorption, and are classified as utility model patented products. They achieve fixation through magnetic attraction. Related patents include the retractable magnetic bookmark (CN211591944U) authorized by Chengdu Aeronautical Polytechnic in 2020 and the improved magnetic bookmark (CN2579667Y) disclosed by Wu Mingkun in 2003. The materials used include soft magnetic sheets, coated paper with printing and lamination, and environmentally friendly PP plastic. The inner side supports writing with oil-based pens, and the shape can be customized. Some models feature adjustable magnetic force, a retractable structure, and a ruler.

Early magnetic book clips used a soft sheet structure with two folded surfaces where the magnetic attraction area and the area receiving the magnetic attraction were configured differently. A 2002 patent proposed a weakly foldable section design, supporting a realistic shape combined with decorative layers. This product is suitable for use with books, notebooks, and other scenarios, and is widely used in advertising promotions, business gifts, and other fields.
